The UK’s first destination farmhouse brewery, Duration Brewing is a pioneering brewery in West Norfolk delivering fresh, wild and blended farm-style beers with a sense of belonging.
5HT have built the brand from conception – helping to secure £1.7 million in seed funding – to recognition as an award-winning brewery (RateBeer) and one of the 15 breweries who will shape the beer industry (Pellicle Magazine).
As a multidisciplinary studio we had the advantage of approaching both parts of the creative brief at the same time: the beer and the destination. 5HT led the concept design for the interior fit-out in the grade II star listed 16th century stone barn alongside a long-term creative strategy delivering all marketing collateral including web, print, social media and animations.

The brand value of ‘returning to nature’ gave us the concept of ‘re-enchantment’ that is the basis for the can label design system. Re-enchantment is to rediscover the world as a great enchanted garden, and Duration’s home in a grade II star listed barn in West Acre is just that. Thus our collateral invites you on a journey of re-enchantment: from the local pub or bottle shop to the great enchanted garden that is Duration Brewing.

Our multidisciplinary approach allowed us to develop the visual identity alongside the interior fit-out ensuring we had a brand that was consistent to the consumer, from the can to the brewery. With the architectural side of the project being a fundamental part we brought techniques and tools usually seen in the architecture industry into beer. We used this approach to design, develop and produce our assets whilst uniquely positioning us in the industry with a number of ‘firsts’ including animated labels and our GIF-able ‘Turtles All The Way Down’ label.
All our marketing collateral continues with this theme of using architectural techniques to deliver our message. Drawing upon a wide array of highly specialised computer generated imagery services we create the most photoreal yet visually emotive images. This includes complex 3D modelling, bespoke material creation, digital lighting rigs and animation keyframing to compositing and post production. By employing the latest advancements in technology our brand stays ahead of the curve with its message brought to life in the most powerful and effective way.
